Don't let the bed bugs bite! Part Deux

Yay!  Pretty confident we don't have bed bugs in the house!!!!  (doing the we dont have bedbugs dance, which is super cheesy).  I'm super relieved, but taking extra precautions when coming home from school.  I make sure to wear only clothes that can go in the dryer right when I get home for 20 minutes, and I bring nothing home that has been in my classroom.  They have sprayed the school multiple times, but I'm not taking any chances.  Better safe, than sorry.

We are in the process of buying a house!  Just had the inspection, besides termites, its in pretty good shape. All that we asked to be fixed, will be fixed, and our closing date is April 30th!  Now, I feel like I can talk about it without jinxing it!  It was built in 1963, and the lady we are buying it from is the original owner.  We wanted a house that was move-in ready, but needed updates.  This house fits the bill perfectly.  Most of the houses we had gone to look at that had been updated, weren't updated to our liking or were out of our price range.  This way, we can do it ourselves over time, in our style.

Here's the front...

Here's the backyard, which is amazing.  Though we will want to put a privacy fence in.

The other thing we wanted was a big kitchen.  We cook together almost every time we cook, and our kitchen now is way too small for that.  We can't wait to use the bigger kitchen.

I've already been boxing up things and packing, Kris thinks I'm crazy, I think the more I pack now, the less we pack later.  Yay, I'm excited about our new adventure!

I think I have bed bugs.

My bites are worse....  Sigh.  I called a exterminator that uses heat to kill them, he didn't see any signs but to treat the whole house would be $1850.  Yikes!  We are in the process of buying a new house and no thanks, we'll need that money for the new house.  But, I definitely don't want to bring the bugs with us....  So, I'm having Terminix come check it out on Wednesday.  They use a freeze treatment, we'll see how much the estimate is.  There is a bug sniffing dog out of Norman, but the dog costs $250, I'm not sure I want to pay that either.  Until then, I'm going to get another mattress cover for the box springs, a steam cleaner, and hope for the best.  Maybe, I'll order some other things.  I'm incredibly stressed out about it and I have ugly red spotches all over my torso, side, and back.  I feel super unsexy.

Don't let the bed bugs bite!

I'm itching now as I type this....

BED BUGS?!?!?!?!

Okay, here is the scenario....

Last week, I noticed some itchy welts on my back and chest area.  Since, I am already allergic to everything under the sun ('cept cockroaches) and I have eczema and sensitive skin I assume I'm having a weird allergic reaction to something.
Then, Friday, as I am done with duty, walk over  to the principal and assistant, I hear something about bites.  Huh, bites, what?  "What is going on?"  I ask.  Then I am informed that one of the annexes....(wait, I work in an annex) might, possibly, have bed bugs.  "I have itchy red sores all over my back." I say.  "What do bed bugs look like?" I ask.  "Little, like fleas." They say.  Oh, man, I have seen something like this crawling on my notebook, twice....  And, apparently all over my body, hence the bites.  We find a book, in the library, indeed my bites do look like bug bites.

At this point, I am thinking, Oh no, please, I hope I haven't brought bed bugs into my home.

So far, my bites are getting better, and I have no new signs.  Please cross your fingers for me.  It is Spring Break though.  Otherwise, I'm in for some major steam cleaning, alcohol spraying, praying, and calling the bed bug exterminator action.

Also, since I'm so stressed out about it, my eczema is flaring up.  Uuughh, sigh.

Trifecta

We had quite the weekend...

Saturday: Wedding
Sunday: Baby Shower
Monday: Funeral

I will post about the wedding and funeral later, today is about the baby shower.

We attended our friends, Jay and Ellen's, baby shower on Sunday.  The hostess and host went all out and it was great shower.  One, of my favorite things they had was a onesie making station.  Here are our results.

By Kris, which turned out to be really funny.

By Julie, which turned out to be totally awesome, she's a good artist!

By Me, I was determined to win by painting their dog.  A little unfair, but hey, if you got skills flaunt them! ;)

And, just so you know, puff paint isn't the easiest medium to work with!

Catch up leads to random posting

Its been awhile!  I've been busy!  I know, I always say that.  But, I got a commissioned to do a painting of some dogs for a Christmas present.  Needless to say, I'm busy, busy working on my painting and putting my book club book on the back burner.

The book club book is Angle of Repose, and supposed to be really good.

I also told my best friend, who is getting married this weekend!!!, I would make her a painting for her wedding, good thing she loves me and will let me do the other one first!

I should probably start on my matron of honor speech...I know what I'm going to say...mostly.  So, busy, busy.

AHHHHHh, super scatterbrained post.  This is what happens when you don't post often enough, then its crazy and all jumbled together.

Here are the long overdue Halloween photos....

Kris and I were Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein.

Ande and Aaron had won the costume contest, so far, as vampires.

Zac and Julie were Jason and a Crystal Lake Camp Counselor.

Here are some photos of most of the group.

Like I said, Ande and Aaron had won the costume contest, until this arrived...  Then, hands down, he won.

Then other people put the robot head on...

Here's some of us girls.

Sarah was super scary.

So we took scardy photos.

Also, to keeps things as random as this post.  Here is a photo of Kris with our out of town friend's baby!

Aren't they cute?

All of this, and more, has happened.  I'll try and be more together next time,
